Notion has announced a new developer platform that lets teams connect AI agents, external data sources, and custom code directly to their Notion workspaces. The company bills this as a full-fledged entry into "agentic productivity software," signaling a direction in which Notion evolves from a mere document tool into a comprehensive platform with AI agents built in.

AI agents have so far mostly been used as standalone tools, and Notion's approach is notable for weaving agents directly into everyday work environments. For developers, it becomes possible to build agents that leverage Notion's existing user base and data structures.

OpenAI Proposes a "Global AI Governance Body" Including the US and China

OpenAI has floated the idea of establishing an international AI governance body that includes the United States and China. Reported by Bloomberg, the proposal is believed to envision a multilateral cooperation framework to ensure the safety and transparency of AI technology.

AI governance has so far been led by the EU's AI Act and individual national regulations, but an attempt to bring the US and China — the two major players in AI development — into the same framework is unprecedented. Scenema AI has open-sourced "Scenema Audio," a zero-shot voice cloning and generation model that can control emotional expression and voice characteristics independently. The system lets you specify emotions such as "anger," "sadness," or "excitement" via a prompt, while voice characteristics are supplied by a reference audio sample. It is diffusion-model-based and reportedly achieves more natural emotional expression compared with traditional TTS pipelines.

The company also introduced an "audio-first" workflow, in which audio is generated first and then fed into video generation pipelines (such as LTX 2.3, Wan 2.6, and Seedance 2.0), drawing attention as a practical approach to leveraging AI in video production.

Transformer Models That Play Chess Like Humans

A suite of transformer-based chess AI models has been announced on Reddit's MachineLearning community. Individual models were trained at 100-point intervals covering ratings from 800 to 2500+, and a distinctive feature is that, alongside the move-prediction models, the project also built a "thinking time model" and a "win-rate prediction model." Despite having only 9 million parameters, the models achieve accuracy surpassing MAIA-2.

In particular, attempts to make thinking time itself a learning target have been rare, and the project aims to reproduce more human-like playing styles, including the drop in win rates for stronger players under time pressure. The training data consisted of roughly 1 billion games from Lichess.
