Apple Intelligence Gets a Restart with Help from Google and Nvidia

At WWDC 2026, Apple announced a major shift in direction for Apple Intelligence. While Apple has pursued its own path so far, this time the company prominently teamed up with two powerful partners: Google and Nvidia.

According to The Decoder, the new generation of Apple Intelligence leverages Google's AI technology and Nvidia's infrastructure to deliver a far more advanced AI experience than before. The evolution of Siri is particularly notable — Macworld remains skeptical, saying "Siri AI? I'll believe it when I see it," but still gives the update a certain amount of credit.

Apple also unveiled "Core AI," a framework that lets developers integrate on-device AI models into their apps. The details have already been explained in a WWDC session video, and the move is drawing attention as a boost for the adoption of edge AI.

That said, it's not all smooth sailing for Apple. According to Reuters, the European Commission has stated that Apple's AI tool fails to comply with EU regulations. Complying with the Digital Markets Act (DMA) remains an ongoing challenge.

AI Traffic Growing 6.5x Faster Than Human Traffic

Fastly, a major CDN provider, has published interesting research findings. According to the report, AI-related web traffic grew 6.5 times faster than human traffic between 2025 and 2026.

This likely reflects not so much an increase in bot traffic, but the fact that AI agents and AI-powered applications now routinely make massive numbers of API calls. From the standpoint of infrastructure scaling and cost management, this trend is impossible to ignore.

Nvidia CEO Declines to Appear at Senate AI Hearing

According to NBC News, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has declined a request from Senator Elizabeth Warren to testify at an AI hearing.

The head of Nvidia — a company with overwhelming influence in the AI industry — avoiding testimony before Congress is sending ripples through the debate over AI regulation. Voices are growing that major players should be held accountable on AI safety and economic impact.

Is AI-Written Code Buggier Than Human Code?

Repowise, a provider of developer tools, has released the findings of a study on the quality of AI-generated code. According to the company's analysis, code written by AI tends to contain more bugs than code written by humans.

As AI coding tools spread rapidly, ensuring the quality of generated code has become a critical issue. The study found that AI's weaknesses are particularly noticeable in complex logic and handling of edge cases. It's yet another reminder that even when leveraging AI, human review and testing remain essential.

Model Routing Emerges as a Fix for AI Cost Problems

According to CNBC, an approach called "model routing" is gaining attention as a solution to the problem of AI overspending.

Model routing is a mechanism that automatically selects the optimal AI model based on the complexity of the task. By using lightweight models for simple questions and high-performance models for complex reasoning, costs can be cut dramatically. However, this could also pose a threat to single-model providers like OpenAI and Anthropic: if users start mixing and matching multiple models, lock-in to any specific provider weakens.
