An IPO Rush for AI Companies — The Boom's Next Test

On May 24, the Financial Times reported that the IPO plans of SpaceX, OpenAI, and Anthropic mark a critical juncture that will test the durability of the AI boom. With AI companies long bankrolled by enormous amounts of private capital now heading for the public markets all at once, the move looks set to become an event that asks whether investor expectations for AI actually line up with real business models.

At this point, none of the companies have finalized IPO schedules, and listings could be delayed depending on market conditions and regulatory developments. Still, with OpenAI's valuation said to have already reached the hundreds of billions of dollars, the price discovery that comes with a listing would reverberate across the entire industry.

The Local LLM Community Heats Up — Qwen3.6 Derivatives Keep Landing

On Reddit's r/LocalLLaMA community, Qwen3.6-based community models are being released one after another.

**Qwen3.6-35B-A3B Uncensored Genesis V2** is a derivative that pairs a 35B-parameter model with APEX quantization and MTP (Multi-Token Prediction). According to testers, it ran five consecutive sessions on a 200K context without any sign of instability, and task switching beyond 120K tokens also went through cleanly. Recommended settings for LM Studio have been published too.

Meanwhile, a new quantization and merge technique called **"rys"** is also generating buzz. The Qwopus3.6-27B model, built with the technique, has been uploaded to Hugging Face, and the community is being invited to test it. rys appears to be an approach that lifts performance by restructuring a model's weights, but verification of its effectiveness is still at an early stage.

SKILL.md Standardization Gains Momentum — Anthropic, OpenAI, and Microsoft Align

According to an explainer article on Qiita, industry-wide standardization of AI agent skill definitions using SKILL.md is picking up speed. In December 2025, Anthropic made Claude Skills (Agent Skills) an open standard, and on the same day Microsoft announced support in GitHub Copilot. Six days earlier, OpenAI had rolled out a similar mechanism in ChatGPT and Codex CLI.

This shift could improve interoperability between AI coding assistants. Separately, among Claude Code users, splitting files with @import has started catching on as a countermeasure against bloated CLAUDE.md files.

ArXiv Now Offers an Interface for AI Agents

An interface has been released that lets AI agents use ArXiv without browser vision. Until now, AI agents needed workarounds such as web scraping to search for and retrieve papers; with this effort, structured access to paper metadata and full texts becomes much easier. It is drawing attention as a foundation that could accelerate the use of AI in academic research.
